About Thomas J. Harris, Vice-Principal (Advancement):
As Vice-Principal (Advancement) Tom Harris oversees the university's fundraising and development activities.
He is also a professor of Chemical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.
Professor Harris graduated from Queen's with a BSc in 1975 and returned in 1986 as a faculty member and Queen's National Scholar in the department of Chemical Engineering. He was department head (1992-1996) and served as the Dean of Applied Science between 1996 and 2007, when he returned to the department to continue teaching and conducting research.
Professor Harris's is a lifetime member of the Queen's Alma Mater Society and a recipient of the Engineering Society's Golden Apple for excellence in teaching as well as the T. Geoffrey Flynn Advancement Champion Award. His wife, daughter, son and brother are also Queen's graduates.
